SCHOOL PROGRAM |
AFTER
SCHOOL PROGRAM |
Before
School Programs are held in each elementary school
Before
School Programs follows the school calendar. The Before School
Program runs from 7:15 AM to 9:15 AM. Children may never be
dropped off before 7:15 AM. Those who arrive early will be
charged $1.00/minute until the program begins. Repeat offenders
may be suspended from the program.
Parents
MUST escort their children into the school building and sign in
to the program daily. Children may not be dropped off at the outside
school door at any time. A “Failure to Sign-in Fee”
of $5.00/day will be charged if parents fail to follow this policy.
After
arrival, children are served a light breakfast and a serving of
juice or milk. Children may play with an assortment of toys and
games and will be offered homework help when needed. Children
will be dismissed from the program to their first class.
Children
may be excused from the Before School Program for extra help or
morning school activities.
|
The After School Programs
are held in each Elementary School.
The After
School Program is held daily from 3:15 to 6:15 PM and follows
the school calendar. If your child is attending after-school activities
in her/his school, you must notify us that s/he will be arriving
on the late bus. Please note that your child’s school will
not notify us of this change; it is your responsibility to call
the CYA office. If your child will not attend the After School
Program on a scheduled day, or if s/he will be late, you must
call the REACH CYA office at 549-9417 before 2:00 PM. If you prefer
to send a fax, call 549-1272. Parents who fail to notify us by
2:00 PM will be charged for the entire afternoon.
Upon
arrival all children are greeted by staff. After a snack and drink,
the children have activity time. They may work on homework, do
arts and crafts, play in the gym or play with a variety of toys
and games. Children must be signed out at the sign-out desk. Parents
who pick-up later than 6:15 PM will be charged $1.00/minute. Recurrent
late pick-ups will not be tolerated. Families who are regularly
late may be suspended from the program.
If
someone other than yourself will pick up your child, please notify
us in writing or in person. Under no circumstances will any child
be released to anyone unauthorized or unknown to your child unless
you have communicated with the office. Persons unknown to staff
will be asked to show photo ID. This may be copied and kept on
file. |

CLOSING |
FUND
RAISING & DONATIONS |
| In
case of weather that delays the opening of school, the Before School
Program will be closed but After School will be open. If the elementary
schools close early due to an emergency or inclement weather, the
After School Program may be closed. We reserve the right to close
early due to inclement weather; parents will be notified accordingly.

The
Before and After School programs rely solely on tuition to meet
its’ needs, we may sponsor fund raising events. Money raised
is used to purchase equipment and to offset operating costs. REACH

| DISCIPLINE
PROCEDURE |
TUITION |
|
The
goal of our program is to guide children in becoming happy, responsible,
cooperative participants through non-threatening assertive discipline
techniques. The staff is trained to guide children in becoming
responsible for their own actions and to help them grow in respect
for the rights and feelings of others.
When
conflicts develop over the rights of other people, the staff works
with the individual children, listening to what each has to say
and helping to resolve the conflict through effective communication.
If a conflict continues to exist, a child may be removed from
the activity and redirected. Unresolved conflicts will be brought
to the parent’s attention for discussion. Continued inappropriate
behavior will necessitate a written warning. Probationary periods
and suspensions will occur for excessive behavior problems. REACH
CYA may exercise the right to exclude a child due to his or her
behavior. It is our policy never to resolve conflicts by using
physical or verbal abuse, and we cannot allow others to do so
within the program, including the children and parents. Discipline
problems will be handled in the following manner:
1st
offense- Verbal communication with parents.
2nd offense- Written notice to parents.
3rd offense- Suspension from program.
4th offense- Dismissal from program.
*PLEASE
NOTE: Fighting and physical altercations will not be tolerated.
Misbehavior of this kind will result in immediate suspension from
the program. |
REACH
Community and Youth Agency is a not-for-profit organization working
in cooperation with the Half Hollow Hills School District. Before
and After School child care depends solely on the payment of monthly
tuition to exist. REACH CYA’s Board of Directors sets tuition
charges and other fees. Tuition fees may be legally deducted from
income taxes. Tuition is paid monthly and is based on the number
of days a child attends. REACH CYA offers tuition assistance for
those families who qualify. Scholarships are dependent upon eligibility
of the Free or Reduced Fee Lunch Program. See the School Age Child
Care Director for information.
